UVB has been used to treat a range of common skin conditions including psoriasis, vitiligo, atopic eczema, polymorphic light eruption, lichen planus, pityriasis lichenoides and a range of other less common skin conditions.  

Ultraviolet B (UVB) phototherapy is considered a safe and effective treatment for certain moderate to severe skin conditions. UVB phototherapy should be used on advice from a medical professional.

Depending on the skin condition most users will see a noticeable difference in their skin between 3 and 6 weeks of UVB Phototherapy.

Users must follow the instructional manual that comes with the device to accurate timings for their skin type. Most users will begin with an initial 30 seconds of irradiation building gradually to a maximum of 2-3 minutes per session. Treatment is usually 2-3 times per week or every other day depending on skin condition. 

No. It is recommended that the skin is clean of all creams, perfumes, makeups etc. If the lamp is being used with psoriasis a warm bath with light exfoliation is recommended. For localised patches, sunscreen can be used on healthy unaffected skin to minimise exposure.
